Hi, a friend of mine got scammed out of a pretty expensive account he got over a year ago. He was mad and I had nothing to do, so we wanted to find more information about this guy and hold him responsible for what he did. That sounds like we want to kill him - we don't. More or less it's not even about the money, but revenge to this guy.

We started by going through all e-mails and information my friend had and just gather as much as possible about this guy. It revealed itself to us pretty early that he was using a fake name and a bunch of trash mail addresses. But we found a mistake he made and concluded his real email and that he comes from Denmark.

With this I went on OSINT tour through google and Sherlock and found a few hits, but this is more speculation if any accounts we found belonged to him. One Instagram account stood out and we're pretty sure it belongs to our guy. But we couldn't get further than that.

Searching through his followers we found some correlation between a MyHeritage page and speculated relatives.

Let's recap (these are not confirmed but I have no doubt): We have an email, full name, land of residency, at least 3 relatives. But what do we do with that info?

I have some advanced knowledge about computers and the internet in general, but I'm not mastermind so anything is appreciated.

If you doxxed him, the OSINT part is basically done, lol.
If you are asking what should you do for revenge maybe there is a legal way but I don't know about that one.

You could try getting even more informations about him, to see if his name is in some government database that was leaked before, you probably already checked his personal email leaks on https://haveibeenpwned.com/ however some interesting databases don't contain email, check the history of data breaches of public organizations in his country.
You should also dig more in his relatives that may have a weaker OPSEC / are less "tech-savy" means easily controlled through social engineering.

I won't help you for the revenge part, either if it's for blackmail or legally getting him arrested.

Well, this didn't directly help because the guy I was trying to help just decided to discard the issue at all. So there's no point in continouing in this direction. Thanks for the help though!
